Hello everyone,

During a recent unannounced BRCGS audit, we received a non-conformance regarding our site's failure to comply with specific customer requirements related to the use of an X-Ray machine.

Costco, one of our customers, requires us to have an X-ray machine for our products.

We have made the decision to purchase an X-ray machine and would like to clarify the maximum timeframe allowed by BRCGS for this purchase. The auditor mentioned a timeframe of 5 years, but we are seeking a more detailed explanation or any alternative timeframe if available. Can anyone provide further clarification on this?

It's a customer requirement, so the timeframe would be set by the customer.  Costco has been willing to delay implementation, you just need to come up with a reasonable plan and talk to your contact within Costco.  If they accept the plan you should be fine.

We have a large number of devices and are replacing some each year -- they accepted that.  Others here have had similar purchase plans and rollouts that Costco accepted.  It's part of the agreement with the customer, so the GFSI auditors see it as acceptable under the related code.

Thank you for your reply
