Hi everyone,

We are Himalayan rock salt processors. can someone please explain that what type of waste in salt processing company could possibly be classified as "hazardous waste". our salt processing does not involve washing of salt, we use coarse and fine salt crystals as raw material, apply cleaning (removal of physically present foreign matter) and sieving for specific particle size, packing in final packaging like plastic stand-up pouches or bulk packing (25kg) in Polypropylene woven bags with inner Polyethylene liners. As far as I searched out this topic, only lithium batteries could possibly be the hazardous waste in our company which are only use in non production areas like admin office. Thanks

What about sanitation? Any harsh chemicals used?

HI Nazia,

How do you apply cleaning? When something is kept aside as "waste", what does it typically contain?

the waste generated is general paper waste, packaging waste as plastic and carboard, processing waste which is typically Himalayan salt and this waste is collected by contractor. we don't have inhouse lab so we don't have any chemicals like acetone etc at our facility
