Functionality of Shoe Covers in Wet Conditions

hi all, 

may i know what is the function of shoe cover ?  Our main production floor  area is all time wet condition, whereas  packing area is dry floor condition, Workers need to pass through production area which is wet before enter packing area. In order to avoid packing area 'get wet' by our worker, can we provide show cover to those who want entering the packing area? 

The function of shoe cover is to minimize potential contaminants from outside. 

If this is a viable option for you, you can certainly try. I don't know how wet it is. Is there a drying mat or something at the threshold? No other doors to get to packaging without walking through production?
