Hello all - Does anyone have experience with writing an organic food fraud prevention program?  I am specifically working with fruit, from the field.

We have a corporate field supervisor who is completely supporting us, just trying to decide how to get started and what kind of criteria we should set up. Also, good sources for scanning the food safety news world for any infractions or know risks on the horizon to be monitoring.

Any suggestions are appreciated, thank you!

Hello Mate

your organic certifier should have a template to guide you.

Hi Delta Dad -Thx for the reply! Ironically, we are working on this plan as part of mediation with our organic certifier, because we failed to successfully complete mass balances during two consecutive audits within two hours.   If they have a template, they haven't offered it to us, interesting.

OTCO has a good resource page for organic fraud plans, on this link is a form you can download to help create a plan. Even if you don't use OTCO, their template should work for your certifier because the standards should be uniform.

Please keep in mind OrRedFood, the new USDA organic SOE rules when drafting your plan. Since the effective date of March 19, 2024 it has been nothing but a headache for my company.

Good luck!

The above link is the most concise and straight forward way. Use that as a template to get you started in the right direction.
