Pallet treatment standards for a food facility
Hi all, I was wondering what the industry standard is for temperature for treatment of wooden pallets that are used for storage of finished goods and sending out for treatment, and any other standards for such pallets.
We have been heat-treating ours, but I wanted to see if the IPPC stamp is what we should have as our standard.
We are certified for SQF and NSF GMP and produce dietary supplements in the United States.
Thank you,
Matthew
IPPC says >56°C and >30mins (conventionally like oven) in order to get an HT (heat treatment) stamp.
A marine shipment may last over a month.
