BRCGS 3.5.3 Issue 6 - Internal Auditor competency

Regarding the clause 3.5.3 in BRCGS Issue 6.

The former Quality assurance manager was a BRCG certified auditor. She performed an internal training for few auditors including me. Now that she left, can I perform internal based on the internal training or I should be certified by an external certification body?

Thank you in advance,

Hi ;)

you should be certified by the external certification body, unless your ex QA manager had qualification to issue certificate

You can perform internal audit based on the internal training. Meanwhile, you should be certified by an external certification body. This certification validates expertise and ability to conduct thorough and accurate audits in accordance with industry standards. It is a testament to your commitment to quality and continuous improvement.
