Reusable cleaning towels and rugs

Hi All, 

My plant doesn't have many drains and hoses. We are using White Terri towels/ rugs, to clean up the contact surface. 

We have quite a lot of food contact surfaces so we are using a lot of White towels, and microfiber rugs - my question is : Is someone has a better idea how to safe some money and not lose quality? Can we re-wash White towels and re use them?

We are washing our cheese clothes ourselves (washing machine), using appropriate soap powder - much cheaper than laundry services, and under our own control.

Those towels and rugs absolutely can be cleaned and reused.  Agree with Scampi on the laundry service.  I'd expand upon it to say specifically because you're cleaning zone 1 food contact surfaces with them, trying to clean them in-house means you'll need to prove the washing process you use is effective (validating that your in-house washing process effectively removes all contamination and doesn't leave any microbiological concerns).  It'll be something a third party auditor will zero in on during audits.

Most of the laundry companies servicing food production facilities have HACCP plans for laundry and their washes are validated to remove soiled contaminants and prevent micro.
