Does an externally provided processes require a HACCP Plan?
we are trading company for packed fresh fruits , and the process of preparation of fruits for packing is performed by external service provider ( renting a production line ) , and the provider do all the process and quality control activities .
The question is ( Do we need to establish HACCP for the external service provider ).
The service provider is certified BRC.
Hi mhosn,
Your contractor should have HACCP plans that cover stheir part of the process.
You should check that the scope of their BRCGS certification covers the products/fruits and operations that they are performing for you.
You should also have HACCP plans for any part of the process that your company is responsible for such as storage/transport.
Kind regards,
Tony
