Hey guys, recently I had a need to verify % of vit. D in one of our products (we add vit. D premix to this line of products as per customer formula). It appeared, the cost of testing was so high that I changed my mind: $700 (taking into account, our lab is giving us some discount). From your experience - is it common? Anyone from Canada? I'm just wondering what makes that testing to be such costly. P.S. Rapid testing for vit. D is $1000! Isn't it ridiculous?

One of the labs we use will do Vitamin D2 and D3 via HPLC with a TAT of 10 days. Price is $240

The lab we use in the USA charges $350 for vitamin D2 & D3 with a 5-7 day turn around time.

We have to test for Vit D (among others) once/year on about 12 skus----you're pricing is spot on----were at about 1k per sku
