Can QR Codes replace nutritional and ingredient statements?
Can QR Codes replace nutritional and ingredient statements?
No. EU legislation requires the information to be printed in certain areas visible to the consumer (visual field). If you only print a QR code, it becomes impossible to read the food label without the aid of a phone which is a no-go. I would be very surprised if the USA legislation doesn't have a similar requirement.
Of course, adding a QR code with additional information to the mandatory information, is acceptable as long as the information in question is correct and legal.
Nope.
We have vending machines (QR coded directing customers to facts on our website) that our product goes into (wholesale market). The only person that would see the label would be a auditor at our facility and the buyer. Does this make a difference?
Not now.

No. Current legislation requires the info to be directly on the product without any additional aids (like phones).
The only possible relief you may have, are the exceptions for packages too small to fit the required information.
