Seal Through Contamination in Flexible Packaging Films

Hi, we are currently having problems with our chocolate paste packs. For some reason we cant avoid chocolate trappings in the sealed part of the pack. Probably 10% of the time, packs produced are with trappings. The product then leaks oil because of this (oil separation is another issue that exacerbates our problem). From the beginning we've been using C8 LLDPE as sealant layer as this is the supplier's recommendation for our type of product and he did mention its seal-through contamination type of film, but still this type of package rejection remains. Do you have other recommendations to resolve leaking from trappings?

Hi Scampi, we are using a vertical form fill seal machine. Chocolate is at 40degC and the ambient air temperature is 25C. (Chocolate also does not have hydrogenated fat)
