Hi All,
We use a bactoclarifier mainly to remove bacterial spores in milk before using it to make cheese. We recently found jelly like substance which was wedged between plates in the milk bactoclarifier. It gets very hard when left in the air and very jelly when left in water. Do anyone know what cause this jelly like substance/material to be formed in the clarifier? May be it is caused by reaction between sanitation chemical(s) with the milk or whey ?
Presence of this jelly substance makes the equipment significantly vibrate. The efficiency of removing the spores is also reduced.
Thanks
