Hey all,
I have a customer that is storing shell eggs and cases of fresh limes in the same refrigerated room. They have mentioned to me that they are concerned that the eggs may take on some of the flavors of the citrus and are not sure if they can be stored near each other. I have not found anything online. Does anyone have thoughts on this? Thanks so much!!
Cheers!
Man, I've never heard such a thing. I keep my Corona limes right next to my eggs in the fridge, and have never had an issue. Small case study for ya there, lol.
That said, I went to my ex girlfriend's restaurant last week, and I had stopped at the meat market and bought a bunch of meat and just was stopping for a cocktail, and she said I could stick the meat in the freezer since it was super hot outside, black car, etc etc. Super clean restaurant. But inside her walk in cooler, everything is stored neatly, but there's all kinds of oddities in there all stored together, including cases of citrus, vegetables, eggs, meat, seafood, etc, and no issues with that. The food at her place is top notch.
So from what limited experience I have mixing eggs and citrus, I'd say good to go. But I wouldn't value my own opinion very much on this subject, lol.
Does that help!?!?!?! Lmao.
