Exporting to Mexico
I work at a federally registered poultry processing plant in Canada. We are interested in exporting raw poultry to mexico and are inquiring about the steps to make this happen.
I have read the export requirements on the CFIA website --> https://inspection.c...1/1369331874691
My understanding is we need to do the following:
1. Apply through CFIA to be added to the List of establishments approved to export to Mexico
2. Must abide by the Zoosanitary requirements - where can I find these outlined in English?
3. Get issued an Export Certification (required at the Mexican border) - is this the same as an animal health certificate?
Thanks for the help!
Our product intended for export (individually packaged frozen raw poultry cuts) is not listed on this chart --> https://inspection.c...4/1369335625254
It looks like you're not looking in the correct place

Each country that Canada is allowed to export to has it's own page of requirements that may or may not match what you had posted
Assuming you're not a slaughter house and therefor do not have a VIC on site?
You CANNOT find the zoosanitary requirements in English believe me I've tried
Have you exported at all before?
FYI- also make sure you have an excellent broker for this whatever they are charging is worth it's weight in GOLD
Also----have you inquired about export credits? Not all countries are worth exporting too as you want to ensure that you maximize your quota credits (some you may get up to 125% of the quota back)
Thanks Scampi for the information.
What is the purpose of the broker?
I am not familiar with export credits, do you know where I can find more information on this?
Here is a list of processors that currently hold quota---see if you company is on the list
I've sent you a DM with further details
