Justification for not allowing Capris and Shorts to the knees
Inquiring minds want to know why they cannot wear capris/shorts to the knees:
I went to a food manufacturing plant-They do jelly and jams and i noticed they wear capris/shorts to the knees. Our facility is a dry manufacturing facility and we wear long coats with long sleeves and require the teams to wear pants? I do not see anything in the SQF Policy stating they have to wear long pants. I would appreciate any help i can get.
Thank you so much
You should be able to search on the site and get a LOT of opinions.
Run a risk analysis to determine what could happen due to exposure, etc.
Good chance it would be ok.
I require folks in our manufacturing facility to wear full leg covering. This is for their protection- dealing with hot liquids, chemicals, glass... pants do create one extra barrier for something to penetrate before harming you. That reasoning seems to be enough around here.
