Hi All,

Does anyone deliver their own in house training?

I have L4 HACCP and Food Safety and just need to get a train the trainer.

Do you call this Level 2 Food Safety training when you deliver it and issue a Level 2 certificate?

Any issues with delivering in house training?

Many thanks :)

The context of exactly what training you're delivering and issuing the certificate for is perhaps critical here.
Are you intending to deliver the Level 2 Food Hygiene course, complete with the accredited exam? And are you already / intending to become an RSPH-accredited centre?

If not, you could perhaps issue your own internal levels of training, but expect to get a lot of auditor scrutiny if you're not careful about exactly how you're presenting this in the training records/certificates ;)

You're in the UK so I'm assuming this is for BRC requirements, although possibly also worth checking any e.g. customer standards if you're doing anything for the retailers. The standard itself is somewhat vague on the exact requirement, so it's theoretically doable internally, I'd just be prepared for an expectation that you'd get more scrutiny at audit doing it exclusively in-house... ;)

What you mean by a certificate is also of importance

do you want staff to have the Level 2 Award in Food Safety regulated qualification or just a certificate to say they have attended the training?

Regulated qualifications can only be booked and administered by a registered training centre,

There are plenty of accredited courses you can obtain but most do not allow you get the qualification - so be clear about the outcome you want

From an auditing point of view exactly as pHruit has said with internal training of this nature I would want detail on the content of the training and the capability of the trainer

It is certainly workable and I know a few companies who are registered as a training centre with their own 'trained' trainer.
