Warehouse to warehouse product transfer

Hello,

We recently acquired a shipping and receiving building within our industrial complex. It is about 500 yards between warehouses. The Shipping and Receiving warehouse is the new one and will be used for storage and distribution purposes only. Food manufacturing will take place in the main Production Warehouse.

We will be needing to transport product to and fro. Would it be sufficient to use a pickup truck, as long as the pallets are protected from the elements with pallet covers? Or do we need to have an enclosed truck. None of the transported product will ever be opened. It will all be securely boxed and wrapped to pallets with the covers over them.

I appreciate any help on this matter.

The truck you'll be using for transfer should be suitable for food product transportation: E.g. not used for transporting chemicals or other potentially hazardous goods, built for this purpose, having ref units, if refrigeration required, clean, sound, not having foreign odors, pest free, etc.

Pickup truck is not suitable for transfer of food even if it was wrapped 100 times.

Need an enclosed truck.
3 Thanks
