Can a worker wear a silver religious cross around his neck in production?
If the production worker wants to wear a silver religious cross around his neck, should it be allowed? It is a jewellery, but not less important than a wedding ring. Does anybody has experience how to regulate religious crosses?
Here, it's no jewelry, period, once you're on the production floor.
Do not start regulating religious exceptions to this. It's a slippery slope and if you search on this site alone, you will find this has been covered quite thoroughly.

I agree with all above posts. I do not make exceptions here either. Makes it easy and you are not singling out any one person.
if you start making some concessions you will create havoc at your location and in no time flat it will be out of control. Part of this can be managed by HR by informing new hires BEFORE the first day of the GMP requirements. Then people who will not comply need not start at all

Completely agree, no exemptions except for medical alert pendants or bracelets. If you allow a religious cross to be worn at product floor, you may expect other people to bring their holy artefacts (e.g. kirpan) as well. Do you need all that havoc at the place where business and food safety matters the most?
Should not be allowed. Neither should "one plain wedding band", but its exemption has been in place for years and there's only so many fights I want to have.
If they don't listen to the "food safety" explanation, try the "it could kill you" explanation. Explain to them the more likely, immediate, and visceral possibility of that jewelry getting caught in machinery and choking/lacerating their throat. Then show them Shaking Hands With Danger just for fun.
Offer a compromise. The issue seems to be having it on their person. They can carry change in their pocket yes? If they carry an icon in their pocket isn't it the same thing? I have asked that they take it off the chain or carry a "medal" representing the same symbol
