Hello everyone, our company produces organic sprout and we have high Coliform. Do you have any suggestion that how we can reduce the Coliforms in the organic sprouts? We tried washing them with water and it didn't help. Thank you!

Hi zahra,
Unclear whether you are grower of later user. I assume latter.
IIRC sprout is a classic case of high bacteria difficulties. FDA, from distant memory, have standard texts for handling this item (maybe non-"organically").
Some trivial possible answer(s) are -
(1) Improve raw material level of coliform, eg change supplier.
(2) improve process to reduce possible growth, eg time/temperature control
(3) use an "organic approved" chemical bactericide, eg ask chemical supplier, eg -

The, possibly multiple, choices may require actual coliform data.

you could try the above link, but you'd need approval from your CB.
assuming your not the producer, there's not much you can do, the surfaces are porous and if the original processor isn't treating them like the high risk food they are, anything you do at your end will affect the actual sprouts to the point of being inedible
