In an effort to keep up with the times, my company is looking into moving to becoming 'human grade" in standards. We currently manufacture pet food/livestock ingredients and received a 96 on our most recent SQF audit. I am looking for a potential list of difference in SQF versions between the pet food and animal food as well as any obvious things I may need to upgrade/update in our facility and programs to be "human grade"

My current off the hip upgrades to need in programs is

Food Safety Plan in compliance with 21 CFR 117 (include allergens, food defense/intentional adulteration)

Register as a Human Food facility with FDA

3rd party audit under Human Food scheme

source materials that are "human food grade"

any insights or lists would be very helpful!

as a side not are more and more pet food companies seeing this ask, or just us?
