Vendor Vs Contract Service Provider

We purchase in-house micro swabs- ATP, EB, Salmonella, Listeria that we read in an Ensure monitoring system. We have no contract with the company who supplies/d us with the reader and swabs.  Our old QAM had them listed in our Contract Services Provider program, but we don't have any contract or agreed upon specifications with them.  I believe I should have them added to our Vendor Program as they don't have to adhere specifically to contractually obligated specifications. Thoughts?

This is not a contract services provider (i.e. plumber, electrical, pest control, etc.) This is a vendor.
