How free of debris does a production floor need to be?

Hello! I am newer in my SQF Practitioner role and my company is new to being certified to SQF. We are a "level 2" SQF certified company.

We produce flexible packaging in roll form that is in contact with food directly.

Is there any other companies out there that produce products similar products that are SQF certified? We are having an "intense" discussion about what is allowable in our process as far as debris. Some of our products produce chads that make it to the floor and haven't been the easiest to clean up. Some of the discussion has been, it should be allowable to leave there on the floor - though it does travel. It does accumulate in cracks and under hoses which shows issues with our cleaning follow through.

I'm not sure what my actual question is, I guess I am looking for insight as to how other companies handle this in their HACCP and control it. DO you not control it, etc?

Thank you!

Sara

We have clients that are SQF and produce contact packaging.

No debris and flooring is constantly being cleaned with dry stickies.
