Checking Driver ID during COVID

With most places having no visitor policy during COVID-19, how is your facility safely verifying truck driver ID for incoming goods? We currently have a no visitor policy except for essential contractors so drivers are not permitted into the building. The receiving paperwork is exchanged in a box outside. Looking for suggestions on how to implement the ID verification step safely.

If your personnel have no contact with the drivers (so, drivers're not considered visitors as they're not entering the facility) - why do you need ID verification?

If you have a no visitor policy and truckers can not enter the building, why would you check their ID's?

With the truck drivers/delivery drivers (fedex) - they are exempt from our COVID-19 policies unless they enter into the building. We have a closed in lobby area for the truck drivers in the back of the building and for visitors in the front. We consider this area exempt (no masks or temperature checks).

I would imagine you are using a driver's license with a picture as a part of your Food Defense Plan.  I would think you would still want to be able to determine who the driver is that is transporting your product, and it sounds like you are no longer letting them into the building.  Is there a way to make use of your security camera for facial recognition, if they are located outside of the building?   I would be interested in hearing what others say about this topic.

Yes, photo ID check for drivers has been part of our Food Defense plan. With the changes to procedures (like no entry to truck drivers) I was wondering if this procedure needs to continue.

We do have multiple cameras at the entry point and at bays where trucks are parked.
