Can anyone share a sample Additive Policy Program?

i would like to ask if anyone can share sample of "Additive Policy Program"? we are in the process of completing our BRC requirements.

Hi Ruzelle,

Can you provide a bit more information about exactly what require the policy/program to do?
The BRC standard doesn't specifically mandate an additive policy, so it may help others provide more relevant guidance if you can clarify what it is that you're trying to accomplish.

hi, thanks for the response, based on the gap analysis with our QA's below is my findings:

   clause 4.9 Chemical and physical product contamination control, raw material handling, preparation, processing, packing and storage areas

Policy 02 Additives Policy Policy 03 Heavy Metals Policy Policy 05 Mycotoxins Policy

I think you may have misinterpreted 4.9.1: Processes shall be in place to manage the use, storage and handling of non-food chemicals to prevent chemical contamination.

Clauses 4.9.1 through 4.9.6 are primarily about controlling things that aren't supposed to be in the product ;)

 

In terms of more general requirements relating to pesticides, mycotoxins, legal use of additives etc, these would be shared amongst several clauses/areas - obviously a significant part is about sourcing the correct raw materials so sits in 3.5, but of course product development is also somewhat key when it comes to the additives element in terms of what is permitted in products, what maximum levels are etc.
