Hi everyone,

we are a FSSC approved food manufacturing company that repacks dry goods i.e. seeds, flours, nuts etc. with the new pandemic we have had to update a lot of our polices and procedures.

Can anyone please share with me their visitor's policy/procedure that they updated for the covid19. We already have the questionnaire in place which states the GMP's and the do's and don't in our facility, but i have been tasked to create a policy for essential service providers when they come to our site during this time.

Thanks a lot.

In terms of policy change you'll perhaps want to consider your local government advice and your business requirements, but at present the default position for many seems to be a policy of no admission except for essential persons for maintenance/repair/cleaning, and for key staff who physically need to be there.

With regard to additional questions to be asking, you may again want to consider local guidance, but a short questionnaire about whether the person has, or has had within the last 14 days, any of the common symptoms (cough, temperature etc) and/or whether they have knowingly been in contact with or live with anyone suffering from the symptoms.

When this all started we also asked about travel to known affected areas, but since that is now pretty much everywhere you may find there is little benefit to it...

We just removed the have you traveled to... from our policy questionnaire. We have two questions posted in the lobby entrance and if the answer is no to both they can sign in and proceed after donning a face mask. If they cannot answer no to both the visit must be rescheduled in 14 days.

  • Have you come in close contact (within 6 feet) with someone who has a laboratory confirmed COVID-19 diagnosis?
  • Do you have a known fever (greater than 100.4°F) or symptoms of lower respiratory illness such as a repetitive cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing?
