Can someone link a sample of a good quality control plan?

Here is a sample from one step in a manufacturing process "printing".

You need to do the same for each department/process and not just manufacturing, but include other support departments as they can impact quality in their own way. This will give a good overview and a basis for improvement, for example identifying where you may need to do more work such as create SOP's etc.  It allows you to really understand QC throughout your business in a way that is visible and you can articulate to others, such as auditors.  In addition if you have a quality issue or recurring issue then you can go back to your QC plan and ask why and what more do we need to do to prevent the problem.

Hope this helps.

Simon

Hi leila,

So what are the criteria which ISO (9001?) believe ensure "a good qc plan" ?

Hi,

I'm speaking about the quality control procedure of a machine (the parameters to check, the responsible, the frequency of test, ...)

So like a PM (preventative maintenance) schedule? If it is this you can find it on the equipment manuals. Or do you mean a procedure for checking the labels on a product from a label machine?

thank you, it's realling helpful....

but just to ask if this plan should be displayed near to the machines for guiding the operator or just saved for the quality.

Can also explain what' the scratch test.

It's up to you if you display the plan near machines.  If you do I would only put the page that is relevant to that process/machine etc.  The plan references SOP's, so it's important they are at the machine.  It also references a quality checklist and that should be used also.  Training with operators to go through the what, why and how is vital.

Scratch test is literally scratching the printed surface with finger nail to make sure the ink does not scratch off.  It is just another adhesion/cure test as per tape and rub.

Hi,

For the die cut overlay?

Leila, the attached QC plan is an example to give you ideas for the content and layout.  You need to populate it with the relevant checks for your business, product and process.
