Storing biscuits in a warehouse

Hello

We recently acquired a new warehouse and at this warehouse we store all our finished products (beverages and snacks). We also went into a joint venture with the a Biscuit manufacturing company and we are now storing the biscuits at the above mentioned warehouse.

Our internal auditor advised that the storage of biscuits should not be done at the above warehouse.

My thinking is that the product is sealed and risk of contamination is very low.

Please can you advise if this will be something major.

Kind regards,

Pam

Hi Pam, we know nothing about your warehouse.

Why did you auditor say that you should not store the biscuits in the warehouse?

Regards,

Simon

Hello Simon

The new warehouse stores beverages and chips - products covered under our scope.

The biscuit storage is not part of our scope.

The auditor indicated that we cannot store the biscuits together at this site since it is not part of the scope.

Kind regards,

If there is no food safety or quality reason then you need to change your scope and perhaps make it less restrictive.

Agreed, change the scope!

You put an exception in for the biscuits - as in exclude it from your scope.

Hello Pam, it is very common the exclusions of factored products from the scope, they are only stored (under refrigeration or not, as in your case).

best regards,

Leila
