Morning All,

Just a quick question, Can I merge HARPC plan into my current HACCP Plan? Or does it need to be a separate plan?

Thanks,

Good Morning

Yes you may merge them together. Have you taken the PCQI or any HARPC course? It's very useful in telling and training you how to do it in the best way :)

I'm sure that purists will cry foul, but I did.  Too me, 90% of the information is the same, so why not.  I could see in certain circumstances, it wouldn't make sense, but for us, it worked fine. I never found a good template online, so I made my own.  You are welcome to use/adjust if it helps.  I found myself merging cells to document things better within each step.  I stripped most of that out, but left in a line (removing most info), so that you could see the logistics involved in the Excel manipulation.

Anyway, I hope this helps...

Good luck,

Todd

My suggestion depends on if you are dual jurisdiction or not.  If you are, I wouldn't recommend it - you don't want the FDA or USDA seeing more than what they ask for. In that case, I'd recommend completely separate plans.   If you are not... then by all means.

I've been in both situations and now that I am not in a dual jurisdiction facility, you bet your   I jumped at the chance to combine the two.

Yes. They are the same thing with different words. Anyone who says otherwise either doesn't understand the point of HACCP or is trying to sell you something.

HARPC has different documentation requirements, but the intent and purpose are the same.

Jenny Scott told me personally that the name is not important, HACCP, HARPC, whatever, they are interested in what your food safety plan and system does. See also this:
