Hello Hank, I am curious to understand why you are interested in this.

Do you think it makes a difference?

Regards,
Simon

Do you not think seasonal changes etc could have a statistically significant impact, Simon?
Consider here in the UK:
Jan/Feb - cold, short days, easy to see how auditors may be a bit grumpy and thus make for a tougher audit

March/April - wet, probably still cold, easy to see how auditors may be a bit grumpy

May/Jun - could be too hot, or could be not at all summery, and thus easy to see how auditors may be a bit grumpy

Jul/Aug- could be too hot, or could be not at all summery, and thus easy to see how auditors may be a bit grumpy

Sept/Oct- summer ebbing away, probably starting to get a bit cold, easy to see how auditors may be a bit grumpy

Nov/Dec - cold, short days, easy to see how auditors may be a bit grumpy... :ejut:

(Also genuinely curious as to the basis of Hank's interest - never noticed any actual difference between BRC at different times of year!)

pHruit I notice a pattern in your audits; perhaps the time and weather are irrelevant and you're just making the auditors grumpy 😁

In serious though, I'd be curious to know if there's an affect. My current site is situated on the North Welsh coast right next to the sea; on a warm sunny day it's a very pleasant location and great views. However some winter days it's cold, foggy, wet and stinks of seaweed. So I can see why this could very slightly affect the mood the auditors are in when they arrive on site and meet the team.

Our audits are in December. Sometimes it's difficult to coordinate resources due to the US holidays.

Oh, I was just curious to see if people were avoiding certain times a year, not if there was a pattern to the outcomes of the audits.

Sorry, I was being entirely facetious - never noticed any sort of pattern, usually find the auditors all pretty upbeat.

Zanorius - "stinks of seaweed" is only how is seems to us folk that live near the coast. For most of the rest of the country it's a pleasant seaside smell that makes them think of childhood holidays ;)

I like it myself, and actually moved to intentionally live by the coast. Though others couldn't understand the reasoning.. I guess it's a bit of a marmite thing

We have BRC audit started from Monday and finishes Wednesday . Today was a factory visit which went well. We are a high care high risk factory. The auditor picked up on our verification of paperwork ( a minor non-conformance). Tomorrow is a very hard day for me as I need to run a mock recall and a mass balance. 4 hours time to gather all the information. It reminds me of food engineering course that I had at uni. It was a 3 hours of intense open book exam.
Wish me good luck.

Glad the factory visit went well. Best of luck with the mock & trace, just stay calm and focused. Easier said than done I know. I bet you guys will be looking forward to Thursday after the audit and the recent lab drama!

I used to have GMP audit's in February.  It gets very cold and very windy then and made for quick walkarounds outside.

Our BRC audits are in August.  If the weather is nice, I've discovered that we spend more time outside looking at the exterior of our building as well as the surrounding area we are in.

Just had an unannounced BRC audit last week which we got 2 minors  . It was the first day of the audit window!!!!!!
