Food Fraud/Vulnerability Assessment Aids

Hello everyone!

I've been using IFSQN religiously for help with implementing BRC Issue 8 for the first time in our facility.

I found the vulnerability assessment to be the most daunting as I had no idea how to approach it and you all provided great insight.

As you all know, there is limited to no free extensive databases of information for food fraud available. Decernis is arguably the biggest and best however I do not have the budget to spend on it.

I did find a great, GREAT aid for the vulnerability assessment from the Food Integrity Project. It has really helped me so hopefully it can help you, too.

Cheers!

Hi Alexis,

Thanks above.

The sub-title is A GUIDE TO FOOD AUTHENTICITY ISSUES AND ANALYTICAL SOLUTIONS

European oriented -

Considerable, impressive technical (particularly high technical) content on the Major fraud related Food Categories but doesn't  seem to offer much new help in respect to non-availability of free fraud databases and concise methods for carrying out Vulnerability Assessments.

As I understand, the excellent  intention is to provide a free database but this seems (see Handbook Pg 427 et seq) to currently be a "Work in Progress".  (or perhaps app is "down") -
