Hard Slog keeping up to date with flexible packaging regulations

I am finding it a real challenge finding up-to-date legislation and regulatory compliance data associated with flexible plastic packaging for the food industry. I have surfed the net looking for organisations responsible for keeping the industry updated but to no success. I am finding it a very " hard slog" and time consuming.

Can any one out there in the packaging industry point me in the right direction ?

I am also concerned about Brexit and wondering what's going to happen to the EU laws in force in the UK that concern the food packaging industry.

Hi Jo, IF the UK leave the EU as planned on March 29, 2019 packaging legislation will be the least of your worries.  The end of the world is predicted or at the very best we'll be crawling about on our hands and knees eating gravel.

Again IF UK leaves the EU on day one all EU food packaging regulations would still apply to the UK and I doubt UK regulations will ever diverge too much from the EU regulations.  Even if they did it would be slow, selective and where sensible.  I doubt we'd throw them all out and start making packaging out of soiled hay.

I find the best place to stay up-to-date with legislation and regulatory compliance data associated with flexible plastic packaging for the food industry is Flexible Packaging Europe, which you can find here:  https://www.flexpack-europe.org/en/

For a small annual fee your company can become members which enables access to lots of information, publications and you can also subscribe to get regular email updates.
