Hi everyone,
in my workplace where where i am in the process of implementing food safety rules i have come across a lot of push-backs from employees.
the reason is that they have to change their habits and left the comport zone for example in terms of wearing protective clothes like face mask, hair nets, sleeve covers and so on.
to stay in context of this topic, the most actual case is wearing hairnet.
mostly men are against of this and they are stating the following reasons:
- i am bold and do not need to wear a hairnet;
- because of hairnet hairloss has begun;
- i have an allergy on the material that is hairnet made of;
- i preferer a bandana - the effect is the same and the material is more acceptable;
- chefs say: i am shamed of wearing such kind of hair cover it is not fancy;
- atc.
as you see the list of complaints may be endless.
to my mind all this is is because of they are not ready for the changes, they do not understand that they have to adhere to rules and forget about what is more comfortable.
i guess i have answers for all of these complaints:
- bold people also need a hairnet in order to protect food from dandruff;
- bandana can not cover the hair/head completely;
- other reasons i think is more false or arise because of phycological factors.
i do not want to make exception for no one, because once you make this kind of precedent happen then always have to step back when someone is not satisfied of something especially when it comes to group of people...
in my opinion, rule must not be changed and must be followed by each employee equally.
based mentioned above, please share with your advices and experience how you figured out this kind of issues with personnel.
thank you in advance!
