Grade H1 Lubricant/Grease
This is about 'food grade' grease for meat trimmer.
The grease need to apply in between the blade holder and blade. Function is to minimize abbrasion during heat generate.
Definately the grease will contact with the meat although it is grade H1. I am in the opinion this H1 grease is not suitable as will direct contaminate the product.
Does anyone aware of food grade grease from natural source instead of chemical type ?
All input are welcome.

Dear Kylo,
Indeed, that is not the intended use of a H1 grease. Maybe your grease supplier has alternative greases in his product range.
Kind regards,

In some industries, e.g. they use the regular food (cooking oil) as lubricant (e.g. dry noodles manufacturing) as lubricants.
Normally, machines need not to be lubricated in the "food contact" side. Does the equipment manual says it should? Another problem with lubricating in food contact side is if too much heat may cause darkening of this grease that may result as contaminant for the meat. Also, if there is a lubricating part in food contact, it is also possible accumulation point or hard to clean area, IMO. Or if the equipment says that it has (or supposed to have) an O-ring for the holder, and the holder is long enough, maybe the H-1 will be sufficient.
O-ring is not workable and grease is needed as mentioned by the supplier.
Idea of cooking oil is great.
Many thanks.

is the o-ring exposed to the food?
What kind of cutter specifically is it that you're referring to?
There is no O ring.
It is meat trimmer.

A wizard knife???
I hear cooking oils and I think allergens - peanut oil, soybean oil - although I understand highly refined oils are not considered allergens at least per FDA, I'd avoid them due to allergen confusion and avoid Partially Hydrogenated Oils - FDA's Final Determination Regarding PHO's (they are doing away with them presently). Maybe a NSF Food Grade Mineral Oil? I know just enough to be dangerous so carry on.
If this is in fact a wizard knife (used for trimming meat) then it needs completely disassembled, cleaned, new grease put on and put back together. Use what the manufacturer says to use or you may break the thing
