Cleaning returned wine bottles

Hello,

I work at a wine distribution company and was wondering if you guys could suggest a cleaner for returned wine bottles.  We get returns on a daily basis and most the time they will go back to pick.  in some cases though we may have to wipe them down to get dust or debris off of them.  I was just wondering if there is a cleaner I could use that is food safe and wont ruin the bottle in any way.

I would suggest a commercial cleaner (please do not use dishsoap).  There should be a reputable vendor in your area.  Call them, tell them what it is for and they would be best to help

You really cannot ruin the glass bottle, but if the concentration is too high it won't rinse freely, and the wineries will have extra work trying to remove dried on film (which is next to impossible)

Are you using a high pressure bottle cleaning machine?
