Supermarket audit
Good Morning All,
I had very interesting conversation yesterday with one of supermarkets quality manager. We are supplying them with our own label product - we dont produce anything under their name in our factory.
There are requesting to come to site to do audit (another one - as I dont have already plenty). When I have challenge why as we dont produce anything under their name she said it is their company policy to audit every supplier even though we dont produce their product and at the same time she was unable to provide a policy!
When I have asked about standard to which I will be audited to they dont have one! They are requesting all our packaging samples too.
Has anyone of you seen or heard of something like that?
Regards
Aggie
Hi Agnes,
We also supply our own label to a certain supermarket and they are auditing us annually. We also provide them with our packaging samples but only for those items that we supply to them or that they buy from us.
Hi, Thanks for info. I am very surprised by this request. What it means I might be getting more and more audits from everyone now :(
Vendor audits, not uncommon at all. More than likely using an internal auditing system, also not uncommon. Here in the US some big corporations (e.g.Walmart) like to do Ethic audits? Primarily focused on HR, Working Conditions and Employee Safety not Food Safety/Quality related. Best of luck!
