Packaging Labeling Regulations for Airline Food
Does anyone know if there are any special labeling regulations for food that is packaged to be sold/consumed on an airplane? Do all normal FDA/USDA regulations have to be followed, or is it like a foodservice product that does not require as much information?
Hello Emily1002,
My understanding is that all products consumed by passengers on board flights are treated the same as those that are sold in retail stores. The only difference is if the airline do their own food preparations, thus in this case they may chose to minimise labelling. Would treat snacks, drinks etc. with same labelling instructions as those for food retails stores. Hope this helps.
Thanks,
