Looking for input. I was recently asked to lead our Food safety team. I agreed and then found out what I was asked to do. I have been asked to lead the development of the FSMS. Not only am I unfamiliar with Food safety ( training coming), I have no experience developing a managment system. I see that as a bigger problem than understanding food safety. I am a 20 year production guy. We are a packaging plant so maybe not as involved as some but still a big task. I have bee pouring thorugh this sight and would like to hear opinions about my experience when it comes to developing a Management system. I have a great appreciation for those of you who can talk this language but it is deffinently not i my skill set.

I would hire a consultant to help initially.
