BRC 4 onto 6 - Quality Checks?

Very long story, but due to personnel movement, and then Technical office movement all I have to go on is my old copy of issue 4. The Technical team are on a totally different site, have issue 6 as electronic copy but won't forward a copy until they have "had time to fully understand it".
So, here I am with a ratty issue 4 so short of going and buying a copy of 6 myself (not going to happen!) I'm on the back foot. One thing I'm hugely concerned about is that several of our QC's have a tendency to do a check on or around the correct time but then do other checks without filling in the documentation. This means that docs can be without information for up to 45 or even 50 minutes. Not too bad for some things, but as this includes metal detection I'm sure you can see my worry.
Can anyone offer a bit of guidance? I foresee no near date when I'll get 6 so any heads up will be appreciated.

Issue 4,5 or 6 quality records should be recorded directly as the checks are undertaken.
I thought it might be, thanks Simon.
Just the small matter of convincing those involved. Then the Engineers to do their bit. Then getting people to realise there's a handwash station before they enter the factory......
Easy this, eh?

I just downloaded the intro & requirements section of BRC 6 from this site. Am sure you can do that too.
A pdf version of BRC issue 6 (watermarked 'Sample copy', but to all intents & purposes the published standard) is available from the BRC website:

http://www.brcglobal...le PDF V0_1.pdf

The only thing you cannot do with it is claim that it is your working copy when audited; you have to have an official hard copy or electronic copy purchased from BRC Global Standards.

Good luck - we have just had our first audit to the new standard (5 minor NCs), & another site to be audited next week. It doesn't get any easier...
3 Thanks
Thanks guys, they have now kindly sent the electronic copy over and we're trying to read it and understand the main differences. Doesn't look as bad as we feared.
